…It was the beginning of August 2017., when I finally decided that I´m sick and tired of living in my homeland, and that it is time to move on and try to find a better place to live and work, a place that I could call my own, my “place under the sun”.
So, I picked up my belongings, packed them all into a large backpack, and set off on a journey miles away in the directon of the north of Europe. I traveled through northeastern Slovenia, Austria and all the way to Bavaria, the biggest German province.
A journey full of misfortunes and crazy days, a journey that lasted almost two months, from the Zagreb, capital of Croatia, all the way to Munich, the capital of Bavaria, a path where the sun burned my whitish skin, the rain falling almost every night and the cold wind blew, the path where I broke one of my front teeth, where I lost a few things, including some of my money, where I hiked the small Alps, rode an old damaged bike across the big cold Alps, and nearly died riding a dangerous hill without brakes, the road where I encountered the “Milka cows”, beautiful alpine mountain lodges and mighty rivers, where I stayed in the town of W.A. Mozart, rode in a funny trolleybus, bathed in the cold lake near the town of Leibnitz, and eventually reached the city of BMW.
Stories from that path, my 4th official walking journey, you can read in a series of posts in the links below:
